How to Sell More During Holiday Season

A large part of growing a business is making sales. The more you sell,  the stronger you can build your business. The holiday season, from Halloween to New Year, is the time when most network marketing businesses do the majority of their sales. It’s also the best time to motivate your downline to help them boost their sales. However, it can be difficult to set yourself apart from others who are selling their products and services at this time. If you’re new to network marketing,  it can be hard to figure out how to talk about your business in order to sell more.  Don’t worry,  we’ll help you sell more during the whole holiday season.

How to Sell More During the Holidays

Now is the time to tap into your network so you can increase your sales. However, with that comes a dilemma.  You want to tap into your network to increase sales, but you don’t want to annoy your network, family, and friends so much that they avoid you until January. After all,  that would negatively impact your relationships. The good news is,  you can boost your relationships while selling more.  Here’s how…

Find opportunities to serve

Service is central to your business and the reason people buy from you.  If you want to sell more, you have to serve more.  Part of building relationships is finding ways to serve your network. Each time you connect with your network, listen for a way to serve. This could include a product or service you have, or it could be a connection to someone else. If they mention a need and your business can’t help them, look for connections in your network to introduce them to. You are at the center of a growing network of people with a variety of skills and expertise.

Look for opportunities to connect people this season. This will help you sell more.  It’s easier than you think. We’re busier than ever at this time of year. Most people need some sort of help,  whether they’ll admit it or not. Connecting people in your network has two advantages.  First, you get to connect two great people and if it works out, they will thank and appreciate you. Second, you’ll show them how to make introductions. This will show them how to introduce you when you ask them to connect you to people they know who would appreciate the services you provide. Many people would introduce you but may not know how.  By showing them how they are better equipped to return the favor.

Get social

This is the most social time of year for most people. In addition to Halloween parties, there are family gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas to look forward to. This provides many opportunities for network marketers to get face-to-face with their favorite people in their lives. In fact,  it’s for this reason that network marketers are able to sell more at this time of year.

Many new network marketers find it difficult to expand their networks. The holiday season provides many opportunities to socialize with people in various parts of your life. This includes the parents of children at school to people in your church or community groups. This social time creates opportunities to build relationships, whether it’s with new acquaintances or people you’ve known for a long time. These are people you can add to your network and connect with throughout the year.

Listening helps you sell more

Regardless of the status of your relationship with the people that you meet during this social time of year, it’s important to use all of your active listening skills. This will help you build a strong foundation for a relationship. It also allows you to listen for a need that you can fill. Perhaps they’re in the market for a product or service that you offer. During your conversations with them, you can listen to see if your business can help them with this challenge they are facing. If so, this would be an opportunity to let them know about your business, tell them what you do and why you love it, why you got into network marketing, and why you love serving other people.

People buy from people they like

People like to work with people who they enjoy connecting with so you may find that someone who may not have been in the market for whatever you are selling may want to buy from you anyway. Or they may know someone who would be able to benefit from your business and the services that you provide. Either way, you have the opportunity to add more people to your network so that you can sell more and grow your business. This will put you in a better footing to not only meet the goals that you set for yourself in the new year but give you a running start so that you can meet or even beat those goals.

So use the social nature of this time of year to your advantage. Look for opportunities to get social with people in your network. Things like school events, work events, community gatherings, and even sporting events provide opportunities for you to sell more, add new people to your network and continue to build the foundation for stronger relationships.

Nurture relationships by following up

Although most Network marketers know that they need to follow up with the people on their Network many of them don’t. This could be for many reasons. Sometimes they simply forget, because they don’t have a CRM or other proven system to help them remember the most important things in their business. Sometimes they’re too nervous. They simply don’t know what to say or they feel awkward talking to somebody, especially a new acquaintance because they feel it’s too soon to get in touch or they simply don’t want to annoy them. However, what many network marketers don’t realize is that by getting in touch with the people in their network, they’re actually providing a service to them. By listening for a need that they can fill, they are offering their networks the highest level of service out there and set themselves apart from the competition.

Follow-up to sell more

Following up is an act of love in its truest form. It shows that you not only took the time to care enough to listen to them during your last conversation. It also shows that you paid attention to what they were saying. If they had a challenge that they are facing that they mentioned in conversation, or if they had a question about a service or product that you provide, following up shows that you care enough to loop back with them and answer that question, offer a suggestion that could help them with their challenge, or connect them with someone who is better equipped to help them with that challenge. For example, what if they mentioned that they’re so busy during the holiday season that they don’t have time to clean their house? Think of someone in your network who can help.  If you have someone in your network who cleans houses, connect the two of them. This builds the customer network of the house cleaner. It also provides the opportunity for each party to introduce people in their networks to you.

Since you are the hub of your network, it’s important to continue to build connections with others in your network. You’ll all be able to sell more. This is your time to show your greatest skill: your ability to connect and serve others with love. Isn’t that why you became a network marketer in the first place? To build a business that you love that allows you to serve the people that you care about the most and help them build better lives while you meet your goals and build a thriving network marketing business that allows you to live closer to your Why.
