Goals: Have You Checked in with Your Goals?

So, how’s it going with those goals you set? We’re already a good chunk of the way through the year, and while some folks might say it’s too early to tell, top network marketers are always checking in on their progress. They know that keeping an eye on the numbers is key. They’re not waiting until the end of the year to see if they hit the mark; they’re checking in regularly to make sure they’re still headed in the right direction. Tracking key metrics gives them a clear picture of where they stand.

Even if you’re not meticulous about tracking, you probably have a gut feeling about whether you’re on track or have a lot of ground to cover. So, what’s the best way to know for sure? A goal check-in! It’s basically a quick review of what you were aiming for, where you are now, and what you need to do to get there. It’s a chance to figure out what’s tripping you up and adjust your plan a bit so you can be closer to reaching your goals by the end of the year. Ready to learn how to do one? Let’s dive in!

What are your goals?

Many of us only look at our goals twice a year: when we set them and again at year-end to see if we achieved them. While setting goals is crucial, especially for a thriving business, regularly reviewing them is essential. This keeps them top of mind, preventing them from slipping away when life gets busy, motivation wanes, or distractions arise.

We often assume we won’t forget our goals, but the reality is, we do. It’s normal. We’re constantly bombarded with new information, making it difficult to remember everything, including those New Year’s resolutions. We might recall wanting to increase sales or expand our network, but the specific targets and deadlines often blur. Regularly reviewing your goals keeps them fresh and focused. If your goals are written down, make them visible. Post them near your tablet, computer, or whatever device you use for your daily Power Hour. Reviewing them before you start can boost your motivation and inspire you to connect with your network.

Review your progress and ask the important questions

As you review your goals, ask yourself these questions:

  •  Am I on track? Use Teamzy to thoroughly assess your progress. Don’t just look at the numbers; consider any external factors that might be impacting your current standing. Have you taken time off recently? Experienced any unforeseen setbacks? Is this typically a slower period for your type of business? Understanding these influences will give you a more realistic picture of your trajectory.
  • Is this the direction I want to go? Numbers aren’t everything. Even if your current metrics aren’t where you’d like them to be, take time to identify positive developments. Are you building strong relationships with promising prospects? Do you have several large orders in the pipeline that will soon boost your sales? Recognizing these less tangible wins can help maintain your motivation and provide a sense of momentum, even if they’re not immediately reflected in your current results.
  •  How can I improve? This is where you identify specific areas for growth. Be honest with yourself. Would increasing your Power Hours make a difference? Do you struggle with motivation and need to develop strategies for staying focused? Are there ways to enhance your communication and connection with your network? Could you refine your approach to converting prospects into customers? These are all areas where targeted effort can lead to significant improvements. The good news is that you’re not alone in facing these challenges. Teamzy is designed to support you with training, resources, and a supportive community to help you develop your skills and achieve your business goals.
  • Can I be on track by the end of the quarter? Even if you’ve fallen slightly behind, don’t despair. You still have time to regain momentum and get back on course. Spring often brings a resurgence in business activity. Take advantage of the spring months to actively connect with your network, implement strategies to increase your sales, and focus on expanding your business. Develop a concrete plan for how you’ll use the remaining time in the quarter to achieve your targets.

Are your habits holding you back?

Our daily routines have the biggest impact on our success, for better or worse. A bad habit might be spending an hour scrolling through news or social media before starting your Power Hour. Or perhaps it’s prioritizing every other task on your to-do list, like laundry, before connecting with your network.

The good news is that negative habits can be replaced with positive ones. Swap that endless scrolling for a productive Power Hour. While checking someone’s social media before reaching out might be helpful, you don’t need to get sucked into everyone else’s updates. Once your Power Hour is complete, you can indulge in scrolling.

Similarly, when creating your daily to-do list, identify your top priority activities and tackle them first. We often tell ourselves we’ll get to everything, but that rarely happens. The laundry will always be there, but your network might move on without you if you consistently postpone connecting. Prioritize your Power Hour over laundry and other less critical tasks. If you want a successful business, you must treat it as a priority, not an afterthought.

Get on track

If your Teamzy data or your gut feeling indicates you’re falling behind, it’s time for decisive action. The past quarter has presented unique challenges, and managing numerous priorities can easily lead to feeling overwhelmed and scattered. Don’t let these obstacles derail your overall progress.

If you’ve strayed from your path, here’s a multi-pronged approach to get back on track:

  •  Prioritize and protect your Power Hour: Consistent connection with your network is the lifeblood of your business. Your Power Hour, even if it’s just 30 focused minutes, provides dedicated time to nurture those crucial relationships. Don’t let anything interrupt this time. Treat it like an important appointment. Log in to your Teamzy Dashboard and systematically work through your daily list. Consider scheduling your Power Hour at the same time each day to build consistency.
  • Reassess and refine your goals: The enthusiasm of January can sometimes lead to overly ambitious targets. While aiming high is commendable, it’s equally important to be realistic. If your initial goals now seem unattainable, don’t be discouraged. Instead, reassess and refine them. Maintain your ambition, but adjust the specifics to make them more achievable and, therefore, more motivating. Break down larger goals into smaller, manageable steps. This will make the overall journey less daunting and provide a sense of progress as you tick off each milestone.
  • Cultivate a powerful mantra: Motivation is the engine that drives you toward your goals. A carefully chosen mantra can serve as a daily source of inspiration and focus. What quote, lyric, or passage resonates deeply with you? It could be a powerful statement from a successful entrepreneur, an uplifting line from a song, or a meaningful excerpt from a book. Write it down, display it prominently where you’ll see it regularly (especially before your Power Hour), and read it aloud daily. Let those words sink in and fuel your drive. Consider rotating your mantra periodically to keep it fresh and relevant. Beyond a single mantra, create a vision board or a set of affirmations to reinforce your goals and maintain a positive mindset.
