Be more productive: Get ready for a busy summer

Summer is right around the corner. Productivity may not be on your mind right now. You may be planning to take some time off to rest, relax, enjoy the weather, and spend time with loved ones. However, it’s not time to press “pause” on your business. In fact, now is the time to build it up so that you can take much-deserved time off during the summer months. Do the work now and you’ll be able to truly relax during your time off. The more productive you are now, the more you’ll be able to relax later on.

Reinforce the productive habits of success

Your business success relies on your productive habits; the things you do every day. This should include a Power Hour, during which you connect with your customers, prospects, and distributors. Although it may not take a full hour, especially if your network isn’t huge, it’s still a time you schedule into your calendar to connect with your network and work on your business.

Ideally, you’ll do a Power Hour everyday or at least four or so times a week. If you’re already doing this, congratulations! You’re well on your way to building a great business. However, if you’re only doing it occasionally, it’s time to up your game to prepare for the summer months.

How to do your productivity Power Hour

One of the biggest reasons people don’t do a Power Hour daily is they don’t remember to. They get so busy, it moves down their to-do lists until it gets moved to the next day’s list. When you’re trying to build your network marketing business, it’s vital to make working on your business a priority. And, part of working on your business is connecting with your network. In fact, this should be part of your productivity to-do list each day. After all, your business is built upon the relationships you have with the people in your network. Lucky for you that entails messaging and checking in with people in your network.

Teamzy makes it easy to know who to contact each day. Simply upload your network and sort them into categories. Teamzy uses this information to give you a list of people to contact each day. All you have to do is login and work through your list. Once you’re finished, you’re done for the day.

The hard part is making the time to do it. That’s why you have to make it a priority on your to-do list each day. Put a star next to it or circle it – whatever helps you remember. Then get to work.

If dedicating a full hour to your business is overwhelming or seemingly impossible with all you have to do, break it up into smaller segments. Take 15 minutes here and 10 minutes there, until you’ve completed your list. No one says you have to be productive all at once. You can have spurts throughout the day, if that works best. If you have time leftover, take that time to work on personal development, including reading business or industry blogs or articles, listening to podcasts, or reviewing your goals.

Get back in touch, even if it’s been a while

Now, you may be saying, “I’d love to get in touch with everyone but I haven’t spoken to Jane in a year and contacting her now would be super awkward.” Or, “I just don’t know what to say to Jim.” Don’t worry, Teamzy has you covered.

We have tons of scripts to use to help you get the conversation started with everyone in your network. Our scripts work for everyone. Simply copy and paste them into the social media site’s message box or use them as a springboard to create your own personalized messages.

In the end, though, it’s important to remember that your goal is to make their day. You don’t need to come up with the wittiest saying or a callback to a personal joke you shared years ago. None of that matters. You want to make them feel special and remind them that they’re more than a customer, prospect, or distributor – you’re there for them. You care and appreciate them, whether they’ve purchased from your business, introduced you to new prospects, or may do in the future. Reaching out helps you show them that they’re special to you. It also reminds them you want to help – it’s your opportunity to look for a need that you can fill.  Although making a sale isn’t the goal, reaching out does keep you top of mind in case they were thinking about it. And, when they do respond, make sure to listen for a need that your business or network can help with. Each of these seemingly small gestures work to build a strong network marketing business.

Ask your best people to introduce you

Do you ever think of a customer or team member and think, “I really wish everyone was just like them.” Although you may not be able to clone them, you can fill your network with people just like them. How? By asking them for introductions to people just like them. In fact, it’s the most productive way to boost your network.

It’s like the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together. If you want to fill your network with great people who you enjoy working with, ask for introductions from the people in your network who embody those qualities. When you reach out to your top advocates, ask them if they know anyone who would appreciate the opportunity you’re providing. Asking puts the idea in their heads and they’ll continue to think about it, even in the days after.

Some may get back in touch with a name or two. However, it’s always a good idea to follow up with them anyway. They may have gotten busy and forgot to reach out to you or they may think of someone at that instant. Remember, once they introduce you, follow up with the new prospect and extend great service to them as well. Then, follow up with the advocate who introduced you to thank them for the introduction.

Follow up, follow up, and follow up some more

Following up is the most important thing you can do for your business. It’s how you build your business the smart and productive way. Most sales occur between the 7th and 10th follow up – that’s a lot of following up! However, many network marketers are too scared to follow up even once or twice. They don’t want to seem like they’re bugging their customers or prospects. Additionally, they don’t want to seem like a pushy salesperson who puts the sale over the relationship.

However, by not following up, network marketers miss out on more than a sale, they miss the opportunity to build a relationship with someone who could become a strong advocate for their business. They also miss the opportunity to show off their expertise and experience as well as the opportunity to help them.

The good news is, we have scripts to help people follow up without seeming pushy or salesy. Teamzy also makes it easy to remember to follow up with everyone in your network. The only thing you need to do is login and remember to do it.

Anytime is a good time to follow up so be sure to do it, whether the other person is a prospective customer or team member, or an existing customer or team member. Check in, get in touch, and see if there’s anything else you can do to help.

Plan for time off

Although making definite plans has been challenging over the past year, you can aim for a general time in which you’d like to take off and relax. Relaxation is an important part of success, so even if you’re not planning a major vacation, plan to take some time off during the summer to rejuvenate your spirit and be more productive when you get back.

Do you want to take a full week off or take a long weekend? Or, do you want to take a few days off here and there? Whatever your plan is, it’s important to prepare your business for the time you’re taking off. How much preparation depends on how long you plan to be gone. For example, you’ll have to contact more people in the week or two leading up to a long vacation than you would if you only planned to take a day here and there.
