How to End the Year Strong

We’re in the fourth quarter of the year. Not only that, there are only a few weeks left in the year. You’re in the home stretch toward reaching your goals. Additionally, now is also the time to plant the seeds for business for next year. The connections you make this season can blossom into business in the year ahead. The good news is the social nature of the season makes connecting with your network a slam dunk. This is your last chance to end the year strong and set yourself up for a thriving 2023.

How to end the year strong

Want to end the year strong? Here’s how…

Review your goals

“All successful people have a goal. No one can get anywhere unless he knows where he wants to go and what he wants to be or do.”

Norman Vincent Peale

How close are you to reaching your goals? Are you on track or do you have a ways to go?

Reviewing your goals is an important task to do throughout the year.  However, most network marketers wait until the end of the year to see how close they are to achieving the goals they set in January. By then,  it may be too late to end the year strong. Reviewing your goals regularly gives you insight into how close you are to achieving your goals all year long. This allows you to make changes and correct your course earlier on,  when it may be easier to adjust your habits and get back on track.

If you haven’t reviewed your goals in a while, there’s no better time than now to end the year strong. Take out your goals and look them over.

  • What are your goals?
  • How close are you to achieving them?
  • If you’re on track, how can you replicate it for next year?
  • If you’re off-track, how close are you?
  • What can you do to get back on track?
  • What would you do differently next year?

Your answers to these questions can help you get on track to achieve your goals by the end of the year.  They also help you assess what is working, or not, so you can have a game plan for next year.  All of this is useful information that can help you become more successful in network marketing.  If you want to thrive in business – any business – it is essential to set goals and regularly review your progress toward achieving them.

Review your habits

Your habits drive your business and also your success.  If you have habits that are conducive to success, you improve your chances of achieving success. Habits such as doing a Power Hour several times a week and making time for your business can help you grow your business and thrive.

What are your habits? Do you do your Power Hour, and if so, how often? Are you making time for your business each day or does it get pushed to the back burner at the first distraction? So many of us are so busy wrangling distractions that we forget about the most important stuff in our lives, including our businesses. However, if we want to succeed we have to build the good habits that help our businesses succeed, especially if we want to end the year strong.

Make time for your business

Although you may not need to work on your business daily, you should be doing it several times a week. A Power Hour allows you to set aside time each day to work on your business. Ideally, it would take an hour.  In practice, it often takes less than an hour,  especially if you’re just starting out. Often, most network marketers can connect with the people they need to each day in 30 minutes or less.

If this is too much, break it into smaller chunks, such as 15-minute blocks. Then, commit to doing them each day. Set aside time, like an appointment, and be sure to stick with it. In fact, at this super social time of year, it may be a good idea to add another Power Hour or two during the week. This will ensure you’re staying top of mind of the top advocates in your network.

Review your Why to end the year strong

Your Why is the reason you got into network marketing in the first place, in most cases. If you’re not sure what your Why is,  take a few moments to think of one.  Close your eyes and imagine you’re successful and have achieved all you wanted.  What does your life look like? What do you see and feel? Write it all down then think about what is central to this. This is your Why. It is what drives you to achieve more in your business.

When you keep your Why in mind,  it’s easier to make decisions that pertain to your business. It’s also easier to stay motivated, especially on those days when you just don’t feel like working. You’ll remember why you got into network marketing in the first place and it may provide the fire you need to stay on track and work on your business.

Get social

This season is the busiest time of year for most network marketers. Between Halloween and the new year,  our calendars are packed with social engagements. What better time to talk about our businesses in person with people in our networks and also their networks? This is the best time to not only talk about your business but also to ask for introductions and add people to your network.

For many, talking about a business may be difficult. After all, you don’t want to seem annoying or aggressive. However, how will people know about your business and your commitment to service if you don’t talk about it? This is where practice makes perfect. The more you talk about your business, the easier it will be to talk about it with anyone, from new acquaintances to old friends.

In the course of the conversation, the topic will turn to what you’re doing now. This is your chance to talk about your business. If that feels awkward, this is where scripts come in. Have a basic script in mind and then practice it in the mirror until it feels natural. Explain what you do and how you love serving your network.  Tell them why you love it. Often, they will ask you questions about your business.  Answer them, and if it feels natural, extend an opportunity to them or ask for an introduction to someone who can benefit from your business. Then, be sure to follow up with them later, which will help build the relationship and help you end the year strong.
