Your Relationships: Connect with Your Network This Busy Holiday Season

Welcome to the most social time of the year! With Thanksgiving and the holiday season right around the corner, you may find that people are feeling even more social than usual. This is the time of year when many network marketers experience a boom in business. For others, especially those who are in the health and wellness industry, this is the time to set the stage for sales in the first quarter of the year, when people are most focused on getting in shape and improving their health. Opportunities for sales and building your network abound this season; but first, you have to get social and connect with your network.

Why it’s vital to connect

The most successful network marketers stay in touch consistently with their networks. They do their Power Hours several times a week, if not daily, so they can stay in touch, especially with their top advocates. However, they also know if they want to stay top of mind of those advocates, they have to reach out during this busy time of year. After all, they want their business to be the first their advocate thinks of, whether they’re looking for a gift for a loved one or themselves. You want them to know that you have their best interests at heart and can help them find the perfect thing.

That’s why it’s so important to keep in touch with the people in your network. How are they supposed to think of you first if they rarely hear from you?

Getting social

Connecting with your network is important if you want to achieve your goals and grow your business. It’s also a vital part of building a business with heart. Every time you connect with your network, you have the opportunity to listen for a need and serve them. Just think, what need will you fill today?

If you’ve been doing your Power Hours all year, reaching out is just part of your day. You log into Teamzy, find out who to contact, and start reaching out. Your top advocates will be eager to hear from you at this time of year. Not only will they want to hear about any holiday specials you’re running, but they’ll also want to hear more about your business. This is the time of year when many people begin thinking about making a career change or may just want to make more money. Be sure to let them know that you’re always looking for great people to add to your team.

Use your online tools to connect with your network

At this time of year, people want to connect. Whether you host an in-person social event or do it online, there are many ways to meet their needs and share your expertise.

Do you have new products or services?

This is a great time to share your new products and services with your network. Which are your favorites and why? How can they help meet the needs of your network? You can also share more about your most popular products or services.

What are some trends in your industry?

This is your chance to share your expertise about your industry? Discuss any trends you see on the horizon or any hot topics you’ve read about. This is your time to show your network that you know all about your industry. Don’t forget to explain how your business fits in.

Holiday trends and gifts giving ideas

This subject is on the minds of many in your network, especially if they have people on their lists who are hard to shop for. Give them ideas! What products or services does your company have that are crowd-pleasers?

Also, give them ideas for seasonal self-care, hosting family dinners, easing the stress of the season, etc. For example, if your industry is home decor, offer tips to decorate for the family Christmas party. Or, if your business is wellness-related, offer tips to reduce stress during the season. By providing value to your network, they’ll remember to keep you top of mind all season long.

If someone can’t make the event, create a 1-page shareable guide to give them. This not only keeps them in the loop but it also helps keep you top of mind as well.

If consistency has been a challenge…

Sometimes it can be tough to be in touch with your network consistently. Although Teamzy makes it easy to stay in touch, the challenge for many is remembering to log in several times a week. If consistently has been a challenge, here’s how to get on track.

It’s never too late to connect

If it’s been a while since you got in touch with your network, the best time to start is now. Log in and get communicating. If it helps, start with the person on your list who you know best. You’ll look forward to contacting them and they have the best chance of responding. Then work through the list from there. If you’re not sure what to say, Teamzy has scripts to use to help you start the conversation.

Don’t worry that you haven’t been in touch in a while. People are busy and will understand that you’re busy as well. Be sure to keep it light – remember, your goal is to make their day not to rush into the sale.

Make your business a priority

Set a goal to do a Power Hour daily or every other day during this busy time of year. One of the reasons you may have lost touch is that you didn’t see your business as a priority each day. As a result, your Power Hour went by the wayside. Now is the time to make your business a priority.

When you write out your to-do list each day, circle your Power Hour. Then, schedule it in. If an hour is too much, then break it down into 15-minute or 30-minute blocks. In reality, unless your network is huge, you’ll likely work through your list in 30 minutes or less. Reach out to everyone on your daily list and you’re done for the day. Start to do it consistently and you’ll not only build the habit, but you’ll also begin to see results in your business as well.

Keep up the momentum

Continue to keep in touch with your network into the new year as well. The most important part of building a business with heart is maintaining your relationships with your network, especially your top advocates. You never know when you’ll be able to help them with a need.

Don’t forget to follow up

It’s not enough to contact them once – you have to follow up. Following up is an act of love. It shows that you care so much about them that you remembered to find an answer to their question or get them more information about a product. You show that you care about them, not as a sale, but as a person. Following up, especially when you say you will, shows you’re a person of integrity who is true to their word. This reinforces character and encourages your network to trust you more.

Connect with customers

Sometimes, your customers will ask you questions directly and you’ll know to follow up with them. More often though, your customers may mention something off-hand. This should prompt you to follow up with them. They may say, “my sister is so hard to shop for. She just has everything.” Or, “it’s so hard to stay in shape at this time of year.” These are both prompts for you to do your due diligence and find solutions to their challenges. For the hard-to-shop-for sister, do you have something that she may like? Perhaps a popular product or service you offer would be just the thing for her. Or, if you’re in the health and wellness space, is there a product, service, or even go-to workout that you use to stay true to your fitness goals at this time of year? If so, follow up with your customer and let them know. They’ll appreciate the suggestion and that you remembered to follow up with them.

Connect with your prospects

Don’t forget about your prospects. These are the folks who are considering becoming network marketers. They may be thinking more about it as a way to make extra money in the year ahead. Remember to follow up with them as well to stay top of mind. Then, when they’re ready, they’ll know who to contact to get in touch.
