Opportunities in Network Marketing: Plan for this Fall

If there’s one thing that 2020 has taught us is that it’s difficult to plan for much this year. However, while you may not be able to plan a dream European vacation right now, you can plan your business and, most important, plan for your success. Taking the time to build your business now will ensure that it stays strong through the end of the year and into 2021. Although it may not seem like it now, there are plenty of opportunities for you to grow your business throughout the fall.

Focus on growth

Growth is essential, whether you want to expand your business or expand your mindset and skillset. Autumn is the perfect time to do both! As the days begin to get shorter, people begin to do two things:

  • Focus on connecting with others, especially as the holidays draw near
  • Spend more time indoors reading, watching movies, binging television shows, etc.

Both of these create opportunities for your business.

Connect with your network

Anytime is a great time to check in with your network. Between the shorter days, the crisp weather on the horizon, and the general state of the world, people want to connect and your network is no different. They’ll love to hear from you!

Connecting with your network consistently not only builds trust; it also allows you to get to know more about them so you can serve them better. Each time you reach out, you have the opportunity to learn about their goals, challenges, likes, dislikes, plans, etc. This gives you insight into how you can help, whether it’s recommending your own products or services or connecting them with someone else you know who can help. Remember, you’re the center of your network and have the ability to bring people together.

Improve your mindset and skills

The fall is typically back to school time. You don’t need to be in a classroom to expand your knowledge and sharpen your skills. The more opportunities you create to learn, the better you can serve your customers and team.

  • Take time to read. Load up on books written by business leaders and industry experts who share how they achieved success. These books offer tips and insight that you can use to help you on your journey to success. Additionally, you can learn from their mistakes in an effort to avoid them yourself.
  • Watch positive and informative movies and television shows. With all the streaming services available, there’s no shortage of things to watch. However, if you want to succeed, focus on the content that will help you get there. Watch things that inspire you to live your dream and achieve your goals. Seek out documentaries about your heroes so you can learn more about them and learn from their game plan for success.

Focus on what you can control

With so much going on in life – everything seems to demand our attention – it’s difficult to figure out what to focus on. Many of us spend so much time worrying about the things we can’t control that we don’t have the energy to address the things we can. What’s one thing you can control? Your business!

What does this mean? It means committing to completing a Power Hour every day, whether you do it in chunks throughout the day or all at once. It doesn’t matter when you do your Power Hour, it just matters that you do it. Sign into Teamzy and work through the list of people to contact each day. Remember, your goal is to make their days! Say ‘hello’, ask how they’re doing, and then leave them with a positive thought and emoji. That’s it – you don’t have to push for the sale or even mention your business. This is your opportunity to swoop in with good thoughts and intentions and build the relationship.

The other part of this is following up. Following up is an act of love – it’s a way of showing that you’re doing what you say you would. That builds trust. The more you follow through with your follow-ups, the more trust you’ll build with the people in your network.

Look for ways to help

When you reach out to people, many will take the opportunity to reach back. If they do, take the time to connect with them. Ask questions to learn more and see if you can help. If you can, follow through and be sure to make note of any changes so you can remember for future connects.

Ask for introductions

The holiday season is around the corner; now is the time to show your expertise to your network.

Add new customers to your network

Although many people joke that they wait until the day before Christmas to start their shopping, most begin a month or two before. However, they begin thinking about the gifts they’ll buy in the months leading up to when they actually begin shopping. Now is a great opportunity to reach out to your network and share your expertise about your products and services. Make it fun by sharing memes and videos on social media. Further, encourage your online network to share it so you can help the people in their networks as well. When you connect with them individually, ask them to introduce you to other great people like themselves. Ask if they know anyone who would benefit from your business and, if they do, ask for an introduction. What if they don’t? That’s not a problem – let them know if they do think of someone to get in touch so that you can reach out.

Add new team members to your network

It’s not just customers you can help, it’s prospective team members as well. Your business has provided you the opportunity to help others and lead a business with heart. Share your success with others in your network.

When you’re talking about your business, bring up the opportunity to be their own boss, and earn extra money to reach their goals. Although not everyone will be interested in the opportunity you’re offering, many will at least be curious. With the economic roller coaster ride, many people have lived through this year, more people are open to network marketing than ever. Whether they want to earn extra money each month to reduce debt, save for a big-ticket item or event, or to quit their 9 to 5 and fulfill their dream of starting their own business, it’s clear that people are interested in the opportunity you can offer. And, if they’re not, ask if they know someone who might be. Who knows – you may be able to help their friend achieve their goals and live the life of their dreams.

Opportunity is everywhere; you just have to look

Channel your inner optimist this fall and try to see the opportunities around you. By focusing on what you can control (your business) you can look for ways to connect with and help the people in your network. Each time you reach out to them, you create an opportunity to expand your relationship with them, whether through helping them with a challenge or simply making their day.

It’s been a challenging year. For most people, the year hasn’t panned out the way they had planned. However, through it all, one thing is clear – relationships matter. By reaching out to your network consistently, you show that they matter to you. They’re more than a potential sale or team member – they’re people who you want to serve. Keep that in mind as you reach out and follow up with them.
